Harnessing a western vibe and even a twinge of Halestorm here and there, this band makes what could labelled as “introspective rock;” with each forlorn note seeming to struggle to find peace in the cracks and crevices of this life we lead.

This past Friday, I had the awesome privilege of being invited to the Sweeteverafter album release party!
The night started out with coffee, snacks, an a tour of the awesome recording facilities at the Mediatech Recording Institute.
As the night progressed, I was able to speak with several of the guests, all of whom were thrilled to be there to support this awesome group.
At around 8 o’clock, the guests where ushered into a studio, where the band played an acoustic set. Let me tell you, this was one of the best rl performances I’ve ever seen, especially considering that their style is pretty hard rock.
After an amazing set, I was able to talk a little bit with Ammee Pearl (vocals), Jay Huzil (guitar), and Mike Martinez (drums). All three are just so humble and passionate about what they’re doing and fun to talk to as well!!
I really encourage you to check them out! They deserve every bit of attention that you can give!!

Why You’ll Love This: Oak and Gorski. Two guys from the LA area making music. And what wonderful music it is!!
I had the privilege of seeing them live Monday night, leaving Disneyland. My friends and I were just about to board the tram when we heard them playing and I just about went running over……
The Stage presence these guys have is excellent!! Both are incredibly interactive with their audience. They had several people dancing, including a few groups of very young princesses, no older than 4 years old.
Now, Stage Presence is great, but are they talented? Absolutely. The melding of cello and guitar, along with fantastic vocals and exceptional harmonies will leave you weak in the knees if you have any kind of feel for this genre of music.
The composition of their songs is a lot of fun. They leave a lot of opportunity to play around while you sing along.
These guys play shows all over the place! I really encourage you guys to check them out!!!! Their albums and studio work are great, but it’s their live stuff that’s off the charts.

Why This Rocks: Sweeteverafter is a local band coming at you from San Diego. Members include Ammee Pearl, Mike Martinez, John Salcido, and Jay Huzil. Coming out of everywhere from California to the UK, these guys combine their vision and considerable talents to create a truly unique sound.
The Alternative-Rock group was formed in 2009 with a self-proclaimed “heavy-edged rock with an acoustic aftertaste” sound. Now, honestly, rarely have I heard a group stay true to the sound that they claim to bust out, but these guys truly deliver.
Frontwoman Ammee Pearl has a voice that can lull you to sleep one moment, and in the next, totally throw you to the ground. Add that to an incredible stage presence and you have one of the best leading ladies I’ve ever seen or heard. If I had to compare her voice to anyone, I would say that it’s sort of a mix between Amy Lee and Claire McGuire, but it’s really so unique that no comparison is going to come even close to her voice.With lost of rolling drumbeats, heavy guitar, thrumming bass, and fantastic vocals, this band is steadily climbing up on my list of favorites.
